Steve Reinke est un artiste et auteur bien connu pour ses vidéos. Il a complété une maîtrise en beaux-arts au Nova Scotia College of Art and Design en 1993. Co-directeur des publications By the Skin of Their Tongues: Artist Video Scripts (1997) et Lux: A Decade of Film and Video by Artists (2000), ses titres récents comprennent Anthology of American Folk Song, Ask the Insects, What Lutherans Believe et Advanced Pictorial Vaudeville. Coach House a publié dernièrement un recueil de ses scénarios, intitulé Everybody Loves Nothing: Video 19962004. Il est co-directeur (avec Chris Gehman) de la publication The Sharpest Point: Artists' Animation at the End of Cinema, à paraître chez YYZ Books à l'automne 2005.
