"I was born in the Netherlands and grew up in Germany for the first eight years of my life. As a curious teenager I decided to live and travel in different countries. These travels and the remarkable encounters I had along the way opened my eyes to the world and the diversity of the people who populate it. On returning ‘home’ to Holland at the age of 25, photography seemed to be the perfect medium to pursue this newfound fascination with the marginal and the remarkable. I decided to study after four years I finished my studying at The Royal Art Academy, The Hague in The Netherlands in 2012.
I am very interested in exploring how people shape their identity based on their sexuality. My work enters the private worlds in which my subjects deal with their own emotions, fears and fantasies, spaces where imagination collides with the reality of life."
Gallery Cultural Speech functions as the epicenter of the Pop-up Pride 2013. The Pop-up Pride photo-route shows images from various photographers, who each include the LGBT theme (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) in their work in their own way. This selection of photos are a small part of a wider stage where this photographers are working on.
