Régis Binard

Régis Binard - Photographer based in Siem Reap - Angkor Wat -, Cambodia

Since my childhood, I have been very interested in photography and I was always with a cousin, amateur photographer in his studio. A few years later, when I was 18, I bought my first camera.

Now, I have been a photographer for more than 15 years. From 2000 to 2009, I shared my time between photography and housing development projects management in France. After that, I oriented my career in more travel photography, working for a French non-profit organization (named Au Fil de l'Eau). This took me to Central Asia and South East Asia as both a photographer and a project manager. After the completion of this initiative (2011), I then moved to Cambodia where I have been working on photography consultancies and project monitoring & evaluation activities for NGOs. Since 2013 as opportunities for photography contracts significantly increased, I have dedicated my professional life to photography for NGOs, corporation and some magazines/newspapers.

I always give to my images a documentary style, with no posed images. Looking for the proximity to people, I establish contact, great communication and interactions before taking photos.
