Prakash Singh

Photojournalist.
Born in New Delhi, India, 1973.
Started career as a teacher for underprivileged children. Studied photojournalism at Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi, in 1994; worked simultaneously for Pan-Asia News Agency as a dark room assistant. Photographer for Financial Express(95), Hindustan Times(96), AFP New Delhi bureau(2001-). Covered many events including cyclone and earthquake in Gujarat, drought in Rajasthan, India-Pakistan conflict, post-Taliban Afghanistan. Received third prize in Photo of the Year Award from UNICEF, Germany(00), honorary mention in UNEP International Photographic Competition on the Environment, Japan(04/05).
