"As a youth in North Carolina; I begun my path as an abstract painter and figurative sculptor; my motivation grew from my interest of psychophysical effects of chroma. Le grand gagnant de cette année (Monochrome Photographer of the Year 2014) est le professionnel Neil Carver pour sa photo intitulée "Manufacturing Content". Il gagne les 2 000 dollars accordés au premier prix.
La découverte catégorie "Amateurs" (Monochrome Discovery of the Year 2014) est l'Italien Giorgio Bianchi pour son cliché "Behind Kiev's barricades".
