L'inoubliable Marilyn à la Galerie de l'Instant
Marilyn ne cessera jamais de nous surprendre. Elle est une véritable icône. Adulée, vénérée, des biopics lui sont consacrés. Des expositions aussi. Lawrence Schiller was one of the most important magazine photographers in the 60's working for Magazines such as Stern, Paris Match, Life Magazine, Time, Newsweek and the Saturday Evening Post.
And through this turbulent and tumultuous decade, it often seemed that whenever a headline-making news event occurred, Lawrence Schiller, like Woody Allen's fictional Zelig, was there. When the 1960 presidential election results came in and Richard Nixon lost, Schiller was there to capture Nixon's wife's tears And when Marilyn Monroe took off her clothes in 1962, Schiller photographed her. Lawrence Schiller - Marilyn and the '60s
For the first time in Europe, Beck & Eggeling International Fine Art will be exhibiting the work by American Photojournalist Lawrence Schiller (1936, Brooklyn New York).
Throughout the 60's Schiller photographed its icons, actors, artists, musicians and politicians: a sleeping Robert Kennedy on a plane, Barbara Streisand buying art in her hotel room or Mohammed Ali boxing. Schiller was always at the right place at the right time. His pictures were featured in the most influential magazines throughout Europe and the USA such as Paris Match, Life, Look, Newsweek, Time, The London Sunday Times, Playboy, and Stern. He won numerous significant international photography-awards like the Picture of the Year Competition.
