Exhibition : « The Winter Solstice »
Scott Nichols Gallery is please to announce The Winter Solstice a collection of photographs celebrating the changing of the season and the festivities associated with this time of the year. Cultures from around the world have interpreted winter as the season of rebirth and the end of the harvest. Over the centuries we have changed and redefined the meaning of wintertime.
Howard Bond, Ontario Farm, 1981
Featuring photographs ranging from the vintage to the contemporary, and landscape to documentary, The Winter Solstice explores the rich and complex history humanity has shared with the wintertide. Images of snow, people keeping warm to stave off the cold, and wintertime frolicking not only show a view beyond the shores but a collection of shared experiences.
Featuring photographs by Edward Weston, Brett West... - Exposition
