Justin Dingwall - Thando Hopa « Albus » at M.I.A Gallery
M.I.A Gallery is pleased to announce Albus, the first solo exhibition dedicated to the young South African photographer, Justin Dingwall, in collaboration with Thando Hopa. The exhibition is running from January 30th till February 28th, 2014, with an opening reception on Thursday, January 30th, from 6-8pm.
Albus is a collaborative project between photographer Justin Dingwall and Thando Hopa, a fashion model and legal advisor. It explores the aesthetics of Albinism in contrast with the idealized perception of beauty. Albinism touches every ethnic group and is characterized by the insufficiency of melanin that determines skin and hair color.
