Gijsbert Hanekroot started his career as a photographer of rock musicians in the late sixties. He stopped being a professional photographer in 1983 and became an entrepreneur. He owned a publishing house and a webshop for computers and digital cameras. While working on his book and exhibitions, Abba..Zappa Seventies Rock Photography (published in 2008), he felt that he wanted to be a photographer again. He began again by traveling and shooting his way through India, China, Eastern Europe and the Americas.
