Born in Rome on 30 August 1973, Giorgio Bianchi is a freelance photojournalist based in Italy (Rome).
Having always had a passion for photography, he left his job at a hospital in Rome six years ago to devote himself full-time to photography.
After a couple of years in south-east Asia working with a travel photographer organizing workshops, he finally decided to pursue a career as a documentary photographer.
In order to finance his long-term projects, he dedicates part of the year to photographing ceremonies and documenting news events happening in his city and throughout Italy.

Le grand gagnant de cette année (Monochrome Photographer of the Year 2014) est le professionnel Neil Carver pour sa photo intitulée "Manufacturing Content". Il gagne les 2 000 dollars accordés au premier prix.
La découverte catégorie "Amateurs" (Monochrome Discovery of the Year 2014) est l'Italien Giorgio Bianchi pour son cliché "Behind Kiev's barricades".
