He was born in Ravenna, 1971.
After studying photography with Italo Zannier and urban planning at the IUAV in Venice, since 2000 he has dedicated himself to photographic research.
In 2004 he was awarded the RAM prize and a HERA study grant. He also began developing performances for camera ottica with the Orthographie experimental theatre company, and collaborating as director of photography with the video artist Yuri Ancarani.
In 2007 he was selected by the Stuttgart Biennale of Photography and Architecture (architekurbild-e.v.) and hired by the Cultural Commission of the City of Argenta (Fe – IT) to document the local landscape.
Communiqué de presse - L’exposition The Flying Carpet rassemble et présente pour la première fois trois séries de photographies de l’artiste Cesare Fabbri. Chacune des images de la série, Orlando, montre des initiales gravées à même la peau d’un arbre. Avec le temps, le végétal se déploie, l’écorce gonfle mais les signes restent. Cette forêt d’émotions trouve racine dans le poème épique Orlando furioso (Roland furieux) composé entre de 1504 et 1516 par Ludovico Ariosto. Cet éblouissant kaléidoscope d’aventures fabuleuses fera dire au cardinal Hippolyte Ier d’Este : « Dove avete mai trovate tante fanfaluche? ».
