Récemment, pendant une période de 7 ans, 7 artistes extraordinaires - David Hockney, Vik Muniz, Catherine Opie, Sterling Ruby, Cindy Sherman, Heidi Slimane et Robert Wilson - se sont penchés sur la totalité du travail du photographe, pour sélectionner les œuvres qui les touchaient le plus. Cette sélection a généré des expositions documentées dans ce livre, et une série d’interviews conduites par Richard Flood, conservateur du New Museum of Contempory Art de New York. Through women's eyes : From Diane Arbus to Letizia Battaglia. Passion and courage.
The work of twenty-five photographers has been chosen to direct the viewer's gaze and mind onto a world of diversity, responsibility, compassion, and justice. Antonio Marras has designed the exhibition’s layout in such a way as to transport the viewer into the very heart of the stories that can be read along the walls. The layout is itself an experience within the experience of the exhibition, a fundamental element in the narrative, creating a relationship between the venue’s spaces and the photographic works.

The exhibition should be read as an introduction to the American city in its crisis and rebirth in a dual phase in which its fast disappearance is preferred to the plasticity of the historic center of the thriving Chicago. Regen Projects is pleased to announce an exhibition of new portraits and landscapes by Catherine Opie. These photographs mark both a progression and a departure for the artist. Opie's work has always investigated the figure in relation to the landscape, disregarding the polarities typically found within these approaches. This new body of work draws upon Opie's beginnings in documentary photography, the traditions of painting, and the history of photography.

Pour les autres, L.A. n'est souvent qu'une concentration d'autoroutes encombrées, de pollutions et de peurs de toutes sortes. C'est une ville sans centre et sans âme...
