Anna Oswaldo Cruz Gaudinianas
By observing and photographing plants, flowers, snails, insects and stones, I have developed a rather ornamental than strictly scientific interest in their respective forms, textures and structures. I have called them Gaudinianas, drawing inspiration from the photograph of "Sedum Sediforme Crasulacea", which, besides its multiple vulgar names, has been named "Crespinell de Reus", and has probably served as the material reference for the crowning points of the towers of Gaudí´s Sagrada Familia.
We all know that Gaudí encountered in Nature a source of inspiration for his works. He once argued: "The big open book one must always read is that of Nature. The rest of the books, extracted out of it, contain the interpretations of men".
