New Works #18: En Foco’s Photography Fellowship Awards
The Bronx Documentary Center and En Foco are proud to present a major exhibition by the 18th New Works Photography Fellowship Awardees: Alan Chin, Eyakem Gulilat, Angie Keller, Hye-Ryoung Min, and Joana Toro.
Juror Danielle Jackson, Co-Founder of The Bronx Documentary Center, states, “A few projects excelled in their technical ability, clarity of vision, originality and execution of concept. This year’s winners invite us to understand cultures unknown to many American audiences. Their projects consider the power of place, and the nature of connection and isolation.”
Eyakem Gulilat’s performative images use traditional dress, props and location to restage tableaus based on childhood memories in Nazareth, Ethiopia.
