Andrew Quilty

Né à Sydney en 1981, Andrew Quilty a vécu près de la mer depuis le début de sa carrière dans la photographie en 2002. Il puise son inspiration du mode de vie au bord de l'océan, qui est le sujet central de son travail. Actuellement photographe salarié pour l'Australian Financial Review Magazine, son travail a également été publié dans différents magazines en Australie et dans le monde. Son travail personnel explore un éventail éclectique depuis les cultures de la jeunesse alternative des banlieues de Sydney jusqu'à la survie dans l'intérieur du pays, et les humeurs changeantes et imprévisibles des côtes australiennes. Le travail d'Andrew Quilty a été présenté au cours de Reportage, le grand festival Australien de photojournalisme, en 2005 et 2006. Il a été sélectionné parmi les 25 meilleurs artistes Australiens de moins de 25 ans en 2006 par Art in Australia et Noise, et a été finaliste des SOYA awards en 2006 et 2007, du Moran Photographic Price en 2007. Il a reçu la mention "Highly Commended" dans Sydney Life en 2007.

Born in Sydney in 1981, Andrew Quilty has lived close to its beaches since beginning his life in photography in 2002. The coastal lifestyle has been the subject of much of Quilty's work and continues to provide inspiration.

Currently the staff photographer for The Australian Financial Review Magazine, Quilty has also had his work published in various publications both in Australia and Internationally. His personal work explores an eclectic array of cultures from the alternative youth of Sydney's inner western suburbs to the struggle of life in the outback and the ever changing and unpredictable moods of Australia's coast.

Quilty's work was showcased in Reportage, Australia's leading festival for photojournalism in both 2005 and 2006. He was selected as one of Australia's top 25 artists under the age of 25 by Art in Australia and Noise and was a finalist in The 2006 SOYA Awards, the Moran Photographic prize 2007 and Sydney Life 2007.
