On Friday May 26, Villa Grisebach will begin their spring auctions with Modern and Contemporary photographs: Featured in the sale are two Polaroid prints from the 70s by Walker Evans (€ 4,000 - 6,000 and € 5,000 - 7,000) showing the photographer's specific view on everyday life and his striking revolutionary color aesthetic. Classic masterpieces on offer are the impressive vintage print by Lewis Hine that documents the construction of the Empire State Building 1930-31 (€ 12,000 - 15,000) and the iconic portrait of Che Guevera from 1963 - an original proof by René Burri (€ 8,000 - 10,000). Furthermore, the sale includes major proponents of Modern Photography like Diane Arbus, Henri Cartier-Bresson, the brothers Andreas Feininger and T. Lux Feininger, Dorothea Lange, Dora Maar, and Paul Strand.
