Daigle spent his career in the oil and gas sector working in operations located in Alberta, British Columbia and across the United States. He started as a roughneck and worked his way up to drilling foreman. But he soon concluded the world's dependency on oil was killing the planet and he left the industry. "We all have our hands dirty on it. It's just an awakening I went through that made me realize what I was doing was wrong and that I needed to try and make a difference," he said. So Daigle moved back home to New Brunswick and went back to school to study electrical engineering with a focus on renewable energy. Daigle is one of the many citizens that are speaking out over fears about the shale gas industry. There are nine companies that currently have 71 different leases to explore for shale gas. Christina Dean, founder of Green2Greener, who spoke at the beginning of the show said that the clothes were made of natural fibers derived from bamboo, soya, alpaca, natural cotton, hemp and silk. The event signifies the UNCTAD launch of the International Year of Biodiversity and features two days of panel discussions by fashion industry experts. Eduardo Escobedo from UNCTAD said that the show provided an opportunity to promote sustainability and biodiversity as fashionable. At this time all Orthodox Churches had been captured and subjected to the "Unia," by which, though keeping the Orthodox liturgical rites, they were united to the Roman Catholic Church. Many of the Carpatho-Russian people were ignorant of the change and what it meant; others were unhappy with it but, in their subject condition, saw no alternative. Maxim's farmer parents, at great personal sacrifice, obtained an education for him that enabled him to study for the priesthood at the Basilian seminary in Krakow. Here he discerned the un-Orthodox nature of the "Greek Catholic" training there and traveled to Russia, where he became a novice at the Great Lavra of Pochaev and met Archbishop Anthony (Khrapovitsky), who encouraged him in his quest for Orthodoxy.
