M was not only the originator of the genre, but arguably remains it preeminent entry. Với nguyên tắc ngẫu hứng trên mô hình lòng bản, mỗi lần thể hiện tác phẩm là một lần nghệ nhân ngẫu hứng ứng tác. Bởi vậy, hình hài tác phẩm thiên biến vạn hóa tùy vào tài năng sáng tạo tại chỗ của từng cá thể. Hơn nữa, mỗi cuộc hòa đàn thực sự là cuộc đối thoại giữa các tâm hồn.
