Leonard Freed "Io amo l'Italia"GUARDA IL VIDEO INTEGRALE: www.undo.net Fondazione Stelline, Corso Magenta, 61 Milano. (Shas original)Song for Leonard Peltier Copyright 2010 by Shas Cho Permission granted for non-commercial use in the struggle for Racial Equality Leonard Peltier was arrested and convicted of the murder of two FBI agents following the 1975 shootout on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. The testimony of the FBI was contradictory, the evidence was in Peltier's favour, and the trial a travesty, with much relevant and critical information with held from the jury. The blatant injustice has shocked the world. Britain's Queen Elizabeth has taken an interest in the case, and In February 1999 the European Parliament approved a resolution calling for Peltier to be freed. If you're not familiar with Peltier's case, the Wikipedia article is a good place to start. en.wikipedia.org Another quick precis is this youtube video: www.youtube.com The Native people of North America have been struggling for justice and equality since Columbus foolishly named them "Indians," thinking that he had arrived in India. It is time to close this chapter of government- sponsored genocide and discrimination. A good place to show good faith is in the release and restitution of Leonard Peltier, Elder, Sage, and Spokesman for the Native community. This song is just a little ditty, suitable for group singing by, say, supporters riding together in school busses or to raise their spirits as they gather outside federal courts and prisons to speak out in Peltier's behalf. The song: (I'm sorry about the poor sound quality ... Leonard Peltier also known as Tate Wikuwa is a human rights and ecological activist, member of the American Indian Movement. In a trial, which was called a disgrace for the American legal system by the former general attorney Ramsey Clark, he was falsely accused of murdering two FBI agents and sentenced to two terms of life imprisonment in 1976. Leonard Peltier is innocent! But the government wanted to brand him as a criminal and through him the Native American civil rights organisation AIM. Their 'crime'; to protest against the ongoing land-robbery and constant human rights violations committed by the US-government, the FBI and the mining-companies in the reservations of South-Dakota. At that time those companies tried by all means to lay their hands on the mineral resources (mainly uranium) of the Native ...
On The Town - New York, New York (1949) Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly, Jules Munshin (Arthur Freed)Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly & Jules Munshin singing "New York, New York" from the Arthur Freed musical 'On The Town" (1949) On the Town is a 1949 musical film with music by Leonard Bernstein and Roger Edens and book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. It is an adaptation of the Broadway stage musical of the same name produced in 1944. The film was directed by Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen, and stars Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Ann Miller, Betty Garrett, Jules Munshin, and Vera-Ellen and features Alice Pearce. It was a product of producer Arthur Freed's Unit at MGM, and is notable for its combination of studio and location filming, as a result of Gene Kelly's insistence that some scenes be shot in New York City itself, including at the American Museum of Natural History, the Brooklyn Bridge, and Rockefeller Center. The film was an instant success and won the Academy Award for Best Music, Scoring of a Musical Picture, and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Cinematography (Color). Screenwriters Comden and Green won the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Written American Musical. In 2006, this film version ranked #19 on the American Film Institute's list of best musicals. Frank Sinatra (Francis Albert "Frank" Sinatra) (Dec. 12, 1915 - May 14, 1998) was an American singer and film actor. Beginning his musical career in the swing era with Harry James and Tommy Dorsey, Sinatra became an unprecedentedly successful solo artist in the early to mid-1940s, after ...

Would you grant Leonard Peltier clemency?Question submitted to all presidential candidates from John Gallagher of Providence, Rhode Island "Amnesty International considers Leonard Peltier to be a political prisoner whose avenues of redress have long been exhausted.... Amnesty International recognizes that a retrial is no longer a feasible option and believes that Leonard Peltier should be immediately and unconditionally released." -- Amnesty International, April 6, 1999 "I have been reading in Leonard Peltier's book, and about an hour ago I spoke with him .... He is a remarkable person and the depth of his spirituality shows .... I would hope that the campaign to have him freed will succeed. I certainly support it very passionately .... Because it is a blot on the judicial system of this country that ought to be corrected as quickly as possible." -- Archbishop Desmond Tutu, April 18, 1999 "(Regarding FBI use of falsified testimony) .... I have nothing on my conscience at all." -- US Prosecutor Lynn Crooks Leonard Peltier's defense committee: www.leonardpeltier.net Learn more about the case: www.freepeltier.org
