But they spend precious little time together and none of them seems to know much about one another's family lives. This bizarre dichotomy underscores their alienation # the result of suburban ennui, a teenager's inherent sense of melodrama, and the disturbing nature of their home environments.

Larry Clark (b. 1963) is well known as an award winning composer, publisher and arranger of music for band and orchestra with over 200 publications in print. His music is characterized by rhythmic verve, colourful scoring and playability at every performance level. He credits his father, a long time band director in Florida, for teaching him the joy of music. Larry considers himself to be a product of the school band movement. His works are highly influenced by the standard band repertoire of composers such as Holst, Grainger, Schuman and Persichetti.
