There are several techniques and processes by which gold may be extracted from the earth. Placer mining Panning Gold panning is mostly a manual technique of separating gold from other materials. Wide, shallow pans are filled with sand and gravel that may contain gold. The pan is submerged in water and shaken, sorting the gold from the gravel and other material. As gold is much denser than rock, it quickly settles to the bottom of the pan. The panning material is usually removed from stream beds, often at the inside turn in the stream, or from the bedrock shelf of the stream, where the density of gold allows it to concentrate, a type called placer deposits. The 38-year-old Toronto native was found last Wednesday, unresponsive in his mother's apartment, and was later pronounced dead from an enlarged heart and pulmonary congestion. Haim was recently suffering from flu-like symptoms, and police suspect the former teen idol, who has been struggling with drug addiction for years may have had an overdose. A coroner's report has yet to be released to determine if prescription drugs may have contributed to his sudden death. Maytal Kotler, a second cousin of Haim's, described the service Tuesday as a "touching" affair. "There was laughter, there was crying," she said, her eyes welling up with tears. "He was a good soul. A very fun, loving guy with a big heart." Kotler said Haim's mother Judy, father Bernie, cousins and aunts were all in attendance. Jennifer Matton didn't know Haim personally but drove nine hours from Philadelphia to stand outside the chapel to bid her teenage crush goodbye. Authors@Google: Corey LeeCorey Lee was born in Seoul, Korea in 1977. The son of an engineer, he moved to the US in 1983 when his father's work relocated him to New York City. Being an immigrant, the food his mother cooked became the most important and tangible link to Corey's native culture. And so at an early age, he realized that food occupied an important role in society, one more significant than just sustenance, and he became acutely interested in the different kinds of cuisine he encountered. I won several tourneys this year, including the Minnesota, South Dakota, and Missouri State Championships!!! I also competed in the 2011 Arnold Classic, took 2nd at Unified National's, and participated in the WAF World Armwrestling Championships, where I took 8th place left handed (without training) and 16th place right handed!!! And, I qualified for the 2012 Arnold Classic. Test Track: Lionel Conrail SD-70 with Schnabel Cars -1A "special move" occurs today as a Lionel SD80 pulls a "high-and-wide load" consisting of a pair of large transformers securely held by two MTH Schnabel cars, spaced by two Atlas gondolas (the latter one a 1970's Atlas version) and a K-Line NS flat. Bringing up the rear is a pair of cabooses by K-Line, in appropriate roadnames. High and wide is an appropriate descriptor for this train, as the transformers were too wide to allow my usual "camera crammed between the tracks and wall" shot. The transformers bump the camera fairly solidly, triggering a mechanical fault in its zoom control that causes the camcorder to zoom all the way out (40x), ruining the shot. Even the markers on the two cabooses take a swipe as they roll by, so you'll have to settle for a different "close call" shot near the end of the second video. This is the first time all this equipment has operated in a train. Depending on which car you look at, it's been quite a while since they were first added to my collection.

We follow movement on the Missabe Division from Duluth to the Minntac facility at Mt. Iron. You will also see T-Bird trains running from the Thunderbird North Mine in Eveleth to the recently reopened United Taconite Plant in Forbes. We then take you on a tour of the Iron Range Division from Iron Junction to Two Harbors. DM&IR's rebuilt tunnel motor SD-40 dash 3's are accompanied by SD-38's and the Missabe's rebuilt SD-9 and SD-18 locomotives. You'll experience even more variety as you watch BNSF and CN "All-Rail" trains that traverse the DM&IR. This video truly captures a time in history that can never be replaced. Ultra rare SD28's on a hard pull, plus first load ore car. Please read! 4/13/2000We are at Silver Bay, MN. as we watch North Shore Mining empties, with NSM 1233-1234-1230-1236 ( 3 SD28's & 1 SD18) getting a run for the hill at MP4. Then at mp6.5, she is working hard in the hill. As the train passes, we spot the car that carried the first load from Babbit to Silver Bay. The following day, 4/15/2000, the 1233, and the only caboose they own (Radio controled to opperate from on the backward trip to Silver Bay) was destroyed in a collision at Babbit. These are true SD28's, and not rebuilds. There was only 6 built for US markets by EMD in 1965. 2 for Columbus & Greenville, and 4 for Reserve Minning (NSM). They are 1800 HP non-turbo charged 567D1. They are basically a non-turbo charged SD35. They are on a SD35 frame. Type in EMD SD28 on Wikipedia.
