Ian Walker - Last Interview as Bishops Stortford manager (Sat 10 Dec 11)On Sat 10th Dec 2011 relegation positioned Bishop's Stortford FC of the BLUE SQ BET North suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Carshalton Athletic, who stayed on form as a 13-game unbeaten side from the Ryman Premier League. It looked like the writing was on the wall for the ex boss of Bishop's Stortford as he questioned whether or not he would still hold the manager's chair after the game. The tipping point for the mutual consent to his departure from Woodside Park would seem to come off the back of this poor performance to a lower league club. In his last interview as the "Blues" manager a despondent Walker told Action Game Replay that "We did not deserve anything and got what we deserved". The ex Tottenham Hotspur and 4 times England capped goalkeeper looked dismayed as he explained to us what he felt went wrong in the game. Little did we know that this was going to be his swan song as manager of Bishop's Stortford. Was this a case of Bishop's Stortford having a very poor game or was this a case of Carshalton having a very good one?

Dramatic First Day of Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12Two of the six boats in the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12 were forced to suspend racing inside the first 24 hours offshore as the teams were beset by brutal sea conditions even before they had left the Mediterranean. Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing motored back into Alicante on Sunday morning after the mast on the team's racing yacht Azzam broke in rough weather the previous night, just six hours and 85 nautical miles into Leg 1, a 6500-nautical mile haul to Cape Town, South Africa. While Ian Walker's team were on their way back to the start port, rivals Team Sanya were reporting damage to their hull. The boat was approximately 30 nautical miles south east of Motril, on the coast of Spain. The wind was blowing 43 plus knots and the waves were around 10.5 metres, the team reported. They suspended racing and made their way to the port of Motril to assess the damage.
