Now, woman, you are the forgiveness, and as it lives in you, the divine Thought will flourish in secrecy surrounded by your grace. Baby Tate - My Baby Don't Treat Me KindFrom The Blues Of Baby Tate: See What You Done Done (1962) Recorded in Spartanburg, SC; August 14, 1961 For someone like Tate, working a day job as a brick layer, playing every evening for neighbors or on weekends for dances, the musical world is limited to the men he runs into when he's playing a job. One of Baby's blues, "My Baby Don't Treat Me Kind", has a different sound to it. Baby played it through; then begin talking about it. "That's one of Lightnin' Hopkins numbers. I don't know if he's doing anything now, but that boy can play his guitar. When I went into army they sent me down to Texas, Camp Hood, and I run into Lightnin' there. We used to get in the back room of one of these little barrooms and play the blues all night." ~ Samuel B.
