Brook Andrew's Jumping Castle War MemorialOn the forecourt on Cockatoo Island stands a seven-metre-wide, black and white 'bouncy castle' For the 17th Biennale of Sydney, artist and COFA-Alumni Brook Andrew, offers Jumping Castle War Memorial, a memorial for forgotten peoples who were the victims of genocide worldwide. Originally only those over the age of 16 were allowed to jump on it. But this policy was revised due to some rather raucous behviour. Andrew discusses his choice of black and white pattern, circus history, and why having a small breakdown in the middle of the night is all part of the artistic process. This artist talk was filmed on Cockatoo Island on Saturday 15 May 2010 for the 17th Biennale of Sydney: www.bos17.com More about Brook Andrew: www.brookandrew.com For more COFA Talks Online visit: online.cofa.unsw.edu.au
