Bien que Roy Schatt soit célèbre pour avoir photographié de nombreux acteurs et autres stars du moment, son travail est l'antithèse de la photographie « glamour » . Il rechercha inexorablement le moment d'inattention chez son model. Schatt était également un acteur au style émotif, ainsi on surnomma ses photographies « Méthode (1) » à cause de nombreux parallèles avec la révolution qui arriva dans le milieu des acteurs.
