Né à San Francisco en 1944, David Alan Harvey découvre la photographie à 11 ans. Avec son premier Leica, il photographie sa famille et ses voisins. A vingt ans, il documente la vie des familles black-américaines du Norfolk. Il publie son premier ouvrage à partir de ces photographies : "Tell il Like It Is" en 1966. Il réalise par la suite plus de 40 sujets pour le National Geographis Magazine. Il a publié deux livres majeurs "Cuba" et "Divided Soul" tous deux basés sur la migration cultu...
