Né en 1925 à Pittsburgh, Burt Glinn étudie la littérature à Harvard où il édite et publie le jounral de l'université "Harvard Crimson". Après l'université, il travaille pour le magazine Life. En 1951, il devient membre de Magnum en même temps qu'Eve Arnold et Dennis Stock, ils furent les premiers américains à intégrer Magnum....
