Sander, August (1876-1964), photographe allemand, auteur de Hommes du XXe siècle, véritable encyclopédie illustrant les différentes classes sociales représentatives de la République de Weimar.
Né à Herdorf, près de Cologne, August Sander est tout d'abord apprenti mineur puis soldat avant de s'adonner à la photographie. Il ouvre son premier studio à Linz (Autriche) en 1903 et connut un succès immédiat.
