Inaugurated in January 2006, peter lav PHOTO GALLERY is a relatively new gallery. The gallery has chosen to focus on contemporary Scandinavian fine art photography. Considering the great attention given to painting these years, the gallery sees it as its task to promote and further the careers of selected, emerging Scandinavian artists working with photography as their primary medium. The gallery is located in a former plant building in the industrial district of Valby—one of the most significant contemporary art localities in Copenhagen. peter lav PHOTO GALLERY is the first gallery in Copenhagen which focuses exclusively on contemporary photography. All artists represented by peter lav PHOTO GALLERY have previously had had their work shown in galleries, museums and exhibitions in Scandinavia and throughout Europe. The gallery is run by Peter Lav Hansen, MA and boardmember of the online art magazine www.kopenhagen.dk
