In 2000, Deutsche Börse Group relocated to Neue Börse, its new premises in Frankfurt Hausen. Parallel to the first spade breaking the ground to start construction of the building, the Group began to collect contemporary photography. The Art Collection Deutsche Börse has since grown and now includes more than 600 works, most of them large-size, by over 60 different German and international artists.
The photographs are shown in Deutsche Börse Group’s two main locations: Neue Börse in Frankfurt and The Square in Luxembourg. The pictures lend to the buildings’ unique appearances, and are a source of inspiration for staff and visitors alike.
The Art Collection Deutsche Börse is not restricted to specific themes. The subject matter on display ranges from landscape and architectural works to interiors, urban settings and portraits. The collection shows several works by each artist to illustrate their individual photographic styles. On our website you can see a small selection of works by every artist.
Deutsche Börse Group is also active as a sponsor of international photography exhibitions. The Group cooperates with international museums and institutions and supports their exhibition projects. Since 2005 Deutsche Börse is the title sponsor of the annual Photography Prize of the Photographers’ Gallery in London. Walid Raad was awarded this year’s Deutsche Börse Photography Prize for his project The Atlas Group. |
