The ALEXANDER OCHS GALLERIES BERLIN I BEIJING was founded in 1997 with a special focus on Asian, mostly Chinese Contemporary art. Since 2008 the gallery represents international European artists in exhibitions and external projects. The gallery is the exclusive representative in Europe for important artists like Miao Xiaochun, Yang Shaobin and Yin Xiuzhen from China and recently included Micha Ullman, Miriam Vlaming and Radek Szlaga in the gallery's program.
Ochs held galleries in Shanghai (2002/2003) as well as in 798 Beijing (2004-2008) and on May 17th 2009 opened the new branch offering an exhibition space of 1000m2. The location is managed in cooperation with Tian Yuan/WHITE SPACE. In the inaugural exhibition works by Fang Lijun, Yang Shaobin and Liu Xiaodong were on view in correspondence with works by Damian Hirst and Anish Kapoor amongst others.

ALEXANDER OCHS GALLERIES BERLIN I BEIJING is also initiating solo exhibitions in museums and institutions for its artists, such as: Xu Bing in the Museum for Asian Art, Berlin (2004), Fang Lijun in the Kupferstichkabinett der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin (2006), Yang Shaobin in the MASP Museu de Arte Sao Paulo (2009). Alexander Ochs has curated several exhibitions and projects for art institutions and museums, amongst those the inaugural exhibition „Arrogance & Romance" at the ORDOS ART MUSEUM (Mongolia, China, 2007) and the Fang Lijun show in the Today Art Museum, Beijing (2006) as well as Li Luming at Hunan Museum, Changsha (2007).
The gallery participated in various art fairs worldwide since 1999, such as, abc art berlin contemporary 2008', art forum berlin, ART COLOGNE, ARCO Madrid, SCOPE Basel and in Asia at KIAF Seoul, shContemporary Shanghai and ART HK Hongkong International art fair.
