TOKYO-GA  will participate in New York Photography Festival 2012, May 16-20th.

In an act of global solidarity, TOKYO-GA will present for the first time a selection of Tokyo photographs by Japanese, American, and European photographers.  
 
TOKYO-GA created an extensive photographic project: describing Tokyo Scapes by 100 Photographers.

Tokyo reacts quickly to changes of the times; as the largest and most recognizable city in Japan it has become a site of unity.

Throughout history, every generation of theorists, scientists and artists has grappled with the ultimate quest: to understand and define the human condition.

Now our turn has come: We are looking for images that encompass the experiences of being human in a social, cultural, and personal context. Images that tell the story of what it means to be part of HumanKind - the bad, the good, the beautiful, the ugly, the exotic, the mundane, and everything in between.

Drawn from online submissions, 120 images will be selected and exhibited at The powerHouse Arena in Dumbo, Brooklyn.

Adhérent de longue date à l'UPP, co-fondateur de la SAIF, Marc Garanger a reçu le prix du New York Photo Festival 2010 pour l’ensemble de son oeuvre.

Dans les années 60, alors qu'il fait son service militaire, il photographie de nombreuses femmes algériennes, pendant la guerre d’Algérie. Témoignages poignants d'une époque, Marc Garanger dit avoir « tout expliqué dans les images ». Il a récemment répondu aux nombreuses questions des journalistes au sujet de ces femmes algériennes à Brooklyn - New York.
