Abisag Tüllmann - Photojournalism and Stage Photography
Abisag Tüllmann is one of the most important German photographers of the second half of the twentieth century. Since 1958, her photographs appeared in all major newspapers and periodicals and were also displayed in books and exhibitions. As a photojournalist and theatre photographer she maintained a close focus on the political, social and aesthetic-artistic changes of her times. Topics such as social marginalisation, homelessness and the vulnerability of human existence always remained at the centre of her strong commitment as an individual and photographer.

From Cairo to Tell Halaf, The Max von Oppenheim Photo Collection
Two exhibitions at the National Museums in Berlin honour the life and work of the diplomat, archaeologist and ethnologist Max von Oppenheim (1860-1946): From 28 January to 14 August 2011, the Museum of the Ancient Near East presents at the Pergamon Museum the archaeological finds from Tell Halaf, a 3,000 year old princely residence in North-eastern Syria now reconstructed from ruins. The Museum for Photography features for the first time the unique photography collection of Max von Oppenheim in an exhibition.

A New View of Architectural Photography from the National Museums in Berlin
The Art Library is reopening its newly reconstructed Kaisersaal (Emperor's Hall) at the Museum of Photography with a show of hidden treasures of architectural photography from the collections of the National Museums. Heinz Hajek-Halke: Form from Light and Shadow
With his collages and experiments, his nude studies and advertising photographs, Heinz Hajek-Halke belongs to the big names among the pioneers of photography in the 1920s and early 1930s in Germany. His 'combi-photographs' innovatively combined photographs with text and graphic elements.
