Julian Faulhaber - Lowdensitypolyethylene II
The German-born photographer made his United States debut in Chisel curated by Kathy Ryan of the New York Times at the first annual New York Photo Festival in 2008. His first gallery show in New York followed in the fall of that year at Hasted Hunt Kraeutler. Since then, Faulhaber has been named a new and emerging photographer to watch in 2009 by Photo District News (PDN) and has been included in the exhibition Reality Check: Truth and Illusion in Contemporary Photography at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Paolo Ventura Winter Stories
Paola Ventura’s remarkable dioramas, which evoke a strange and often imaginary past, are conceived and created on two very ordinary tables at his Brooklyn studio. An Italian expat, Ventura deals with his homesickness by presenting memories, in turn coherent and fragmented, from his own past and his country’s. For Ventura, the past is not just something to be remembered, but also something to be interpreted and manipulated, very much like the action figures that dominate his photographs. HASTED HUNT KRAEUTLER opens with "Edward Burtynsky: Oil". The exhibition runs from October 1 until November 28, 2009 with an artist's reception on Tuesday, October 6th from 6 to 8 p.m. "Oil" consists of a series of large format color images made over the last 12 years.
