Photomeetings Luxembourg 2010 - Magazine Photography
After six years, Luxembourg’s photo festival has established itself in the heart of Europe as both an attractive and respected meeting platform for photographers, photo-artists, photo-theorists and of course also amateur photographers from around the globe. Yvon Lambert, New York Chronicles
Connaissant New York à travers la photographie américaine, cette idée de projet photographique ressemblait à une sorte de défi. Ce séjour fut son premier contact physique avec cette ville aux mille facettes.
Sa chronique n'est que la vision subjective d'un solitaire de passage, sorte de «juif errant» traversant la ville de New York, s'imprégnant des odeurs et des bruits du lieu, absorbant tout ce qu'il rencontre au dédale des rues et des avenues et réagissant instinctivement en déclanchant son appareil photo quand l'émotion le prend. En résulte une série d'instants photographiques dont l'objet n'est nullement spectacula...

Entre ombres et lumières
Dans ma démarche artistique, je confronte le spectateur à une de mes obsessions, celle d'aborder les autres et moi-même “de dos”. J'établis ainsi des procédés que me permettent un dos à dos avec l'ailleurs, un vécu détourné qui parle du temps qui passe et qui est en constante attente de reconnaissance identitaire.
Dans l'autoportrait le problème de voir le dos me met face à cette fatalité de ne pouvoir voir qu'une partie fragmentée de moi-même. A l'aide d'un jeu de miroir, je photographie « vers l'arrière » pour voir (toucher) ce qui se trouve derrière moi, à savoir mon dos.
