Black Sea of Concrete - Rafal Milach
Rafal has been travelling to Ukrainian costal towns and places, meeting with local people. He has documented the change in lives of these people, strongly influenced by long lasting USSR history and recent political events, and their specific relation and coexistence with the sea. Telling a Ukrainian story by connecting seascapes, portraits of locals dressed in their working uniforms and images of everyday life, Rafal created a powerful portrait of the Black Sea. The portrait of the Black Sea is dominated by massive concrete which appears as a relict of the past Soviet times that still directs and marks people's lives.

Adam Pańczuk (1978) was born in Biała Podlaska and currently lives in Warsaw. In his work he travels to wherever he finds an interesting subject. He studied at the University of Economics and photography at the Multimedia Communication Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. With his projects Pańczuk seems to be asking questions, at the same time directly and metaphorically, about identity, consciousness and attitude towards life of the people he meets along the way. The photographer turns her attention to young people entangled in the complex process of growing up and maturing.
