Marc Yankus : The point of secret
ClampArt is pleased to announce the opening of “The Point of Secret,” Marc Yankus’ second exhibition of photographs at the gallery.
In his newest body of work, Yankus explores mysterious points of intersection—moments when reality and illusion plausibly overlap. Think of a daydream or the haze when waking from a particularly sound sleep. Such gentle transitions are the subject of the artist’s recent photographs. Yankus eloquently writes:
“I am especially fascinated with the city in its rare moments of tranquility—as it sinks into sl...

Dave Anderson : Roadside Ghosts
ClampArt is pleased to announce Roadside Ghosts, an exhibition of photographs by artist Dave Anderson.
Roadside Ghosts, Anderson’s second show at ClampArt, explores the twin themes of hope and loss using familiar and unusual objects from the American landscape. Ghosts linger on the margins while the images hint at stories partially told. This series began in 2003 and is taken from the artist’s travels through over twenty states.
Born in Michigan in 1970, Anderson is a relative newcomer to the world of photography. He first worked on Bill Clinton’s 1992 campaign, and then in...

Joshua Lutz : Meadowlands
ClampArt is pleased to present an exhibition of work by photographer, Joshua Lutz, on the occasion of the publication of the artist’s monograph, Meadowlands (powerHouse Books, 2008).

Over the years, however, this project has evolved into a compelling artistic exploration, revealing the soul of this liminal space. Robert Sullivan, in the introduction to Lutz’s book, describes the Meado...

Photo Mandalas : Bill Armstrong and Milan Fano Blatny at The Philadelphia Museum of Art
While the mandala is an artistic form rarely associated with photography, a new exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Photo Mandalas: Bill Armstrong and Milan Fano Blatny, will present more than thirty-five works by Armstrong (American, born 1952) and Blatny (Czech, born 1972), two contemporary photographers who have been inspired by this ancient symbol. The artists draw on the mandala concept in producing these images, although they have interpreted it liberally. While their technical approaches to representing the mandala are quite different, both Armstrong and Blatny employ the potent and universal symbol of forms emanating from...

Brian Finke Flight Attendants
ClampArt is pleased to announce “Brian Finke: Flight Attendants,” the artist’s third solo show at the gallery. The exhibition coincides with the release of Finke’s second monograph of the same title from powerHouse Books.
Flying the friendly skies, Brian Finke crisscrossed the United States photographing flight attendants on Delta, JetBlue, Hawaiian, Hooters Air, Southwest, and Song airlines before going abroad with such carriers as Air France, Qantas, and British Airways. In London, Finke visited a flight attendant school complete with emergency rafts and billowing smoke, and...
