Carolina Nitsch is pleased to present Samar Hussein by Vera Lutter at Carolina Nitsch Project Room in Chelsea, New York. This exhibition is a two part presentation including a DVD wall projection of an endless loop of images and a portfolio of nine prints.

Carolina Nitsch is pleased to present performance photographs from the 1970's by Carolee Schneemann at Carolina Nitsch Project Room in Chelsea, New York. This exhibition has been organized in collaboration with Elisabeth Ross Wingate on the occasion of several jointly published editions with the artist.
A pioneer of performance art, Schneemann's multidisciplinary work also includes assemblage, photography, film, video, and installation, while consistently referring to painting. Carolina Nitsch is pleased to present FOR A LANGUAGE TO COME - Provoking Change in Japanese Postwar Photography at Carolina Nitsch Project Room in Chelsea. This exhibition of photographers and their seminal books in postwar Japan surveys a highpoint in the history of photography books. On display are vintage editions of some 35 rare Japanese photobooks from the late 1950s to the early 1990s and complete page by page media presentations of selected titles.

LAURIE SIMMONS IN AND AROUND THE HOUSE
Carolina Nitsch is pleased to present IN AND AROUND THE HOUSE, the first comprehensive survey of Laurie Simmons' early black and white photographs from 1976-78 at her Project Room in Chelsea, New York.
This seminal body of work put Simmons at the forefront of a new generation of artists, predominantly women, whose photographic works began a new dialogue in contemporary art.

NEW PHOTO - Ten Years
NEW PHOTO - Ten Years, a portfolio with 16 photographs and a complete facsimile reprint of NEW PHOTO, the seminal underground magazine and forerunner of contemporary Chinese photography.
In addition the exhibition features a media display of all 200 photographs published in NEW PHOTO, a reading room with the magazine issues and a new volume with specially commissioned essays and interviews with all artists.
