Bonhams’ next sale of Photographs in London takes place on Thursday 17th May at 2pm. The sale will feature fine photographs and photobooks from the history of the medium, from the 19th Century to the present day.
Highlights of the sale include John Jabez Edwin Mayall’s exquisite daguerreotype portrait of Charles Dickens’ wife Catherine, dated 1852-55 and estimated at £8,000-12,000.

On 13th April Bonhams Dubai stages its inaugural sale of Photographs in the region. Showcasing a wide range of imagery, from 19th century through to contemporary pieces, the sale comprises an exciting mix of international artists, with works hailing from the USA, Europe, Australia, UAE, Iran, Lebanon and Yemen. Bonhams’ 16 November Photographs sale in London comprises works from the spread of the history of photography, from the 19th century to the present day. Starting in the Crimea in the 1850s, with two studies by Roger Fenton, we pass through late 19th century England with P.H. Emerson, before moving into Europe in the 20th century.
