Anni Leppälä - Barbara Gross Galerie
In our first exhibition of Finnish artist Anni Leppälä, we are showing an installation of photographic works. Her way of integrating chronologically divergent images and combining different, mainly small formats is typical for the artist. Anni Leppälä, born in Helsinki in 1981, was awarded last year’s Finnish Young Artist of the Year art prize. Her works feature mostly young women or northern landscapes. Katarina Gaenssler, the last exhibition of Barbara Gross Galerie at Thierschplatz
Katharina Gaenssler received the Aenne Biermann Price for German Contemporary photography in 2003. 2005, her final student work was awarded by the Manfred Bischoff Prize from the Stiftung der Akademie der Bildenden Künste Munich. 2007 she was prized by the City of Munich in photography, 2009 she received the Bayerischer Staatsförderpreis. In 2007 she had a solo show at Photomuseum Munich. At present she is exhibiting at the Sprengel Museum Hannover and the Neue Galerie Dachau, Germany.

Chen Shaoxiong
Chen Shaoxiong was one of the founders of the contemporary art scene in Guangzhou. He initiated the Big Tail Elephant Group, with the purpose of dealing with political and social themes. In 2003, he and the group took part in the Venice Biennial. Since then his work has been seen in all of the large exhibitions of Chinese art in Europe, Asia, and elsewhere around the world.

Boris Mikhailov - Sandwich
Boris Mikhailov is one of the most important photographers of our time. Since the 1960s he has been developing a visual cosmos in which the lives of simple people in Communist Russia are penetratingly recounted. In those days, photography was controlled by strict rules.
