Its main theme, needless to say, is women and the emotions they convey. Most of those who modeled for these photographs have played some role in my own life or in that of people close to me. Only few are "professional beauties", such as actresses or fashion models. Each session has taken weeks o...

Trained as a fashion artist and heeding the call of photography rather late, Peterski went to New York at the beginning of the 1950's, drawn by the radiance of the American metropolis. There he became Irving Penn's assistant. Pleterski's elegant, statically-staged fashion and portrait photographs of contemporaries, known through Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Glamour and other high end fashion magazines, are unmistakeably influenced by the work of the great photographer and friend. Despite an oeuvre that during his lifetime...

Homage to Irving Penn

The great American photographer Irving Penn is celebrating his 90th birthday on June 16th 2007. To show all our respect, the idea to produce a group show came up, that combines work of young and established photographers. Mr. Penn's influence on the developement of photography in the second half of the 20th century reflects in the numerous examples of photographic works, in which you find elements that Mr.Penn has already used in his work. This starts with the choice of subject, in the broad span of portrait to fashion and stillife and to the use of specific backgrounds. It is not surprising at all, to hear the s...
