Le photographe berlinois Thomas Meyer pose son regard aigu sur les lieux d'où s'exerçait la froide terreur de l'appareil d'Etat est-allemand : les bureaux et les geôles de la Staatsicherheit, plus connue sous le surnom presque charmant de "Stasi". Ceux-ci ont été depuis la chute du rideau de fer transformés en musées. Mis en vitrine, les signes glaçants de la violence bureaucratique y sont comme redoublés et ironisés. En somme, une autre expression de la "banalité du mal" qui semble comme en attente de nouveaux occupants (bourreaux fonctionnaires et victimes ordinaires).
Thomas Meyer est photographe indépendant et dirige l’agence photographique Ostkreuz à Berlin.
