NASA Lunar and Viking Orbiter images highlight Dallas Photography Auction
Rare private astrophotography collection provides outer space insight, at Heritage, April 18
When three rare and extraordinary extraterrestrial images - one each from NASA's 1967 Luna Orbiter Missions IV and V, and an original Mars mosaic from the 1976 Viking Orbiter 1 - cross the auction block as part of Heritage Auction Galleries' April 18 Vintage & Contemporary Photography Signature® Auction, it will give a special interplanetary flavor to an already spectacular international event.
Other highlights of the auction include: a signed Man Ray Rayogram; several photographs by Robert Frank, from the collection of his first wife, Mary Frank; a group of five photographs by legendary photographer Lou Bernstein, directly from the photographer's family; 47 images from photographer Barbara Morgan, including several important photographs of modern dance pioneer Martha Graham and a wide selection of famous 20th century European photographers.
