e Paris à Moscou, de New York à Shanghai, Floriane de Lassée pose son regard sur les toits des métropoles et capture la ville d’en haut.

Prises de nuit à la chambre photographique, ses images nous plongent dans une ambiance féérique; des lumières tamisées de Paris aux couleurs chaudes de Moscou, en passant par les ambiances électriques de Tokyo ou Shanghai, la ville nocturne est le théâtre d’instants singuliers. Derrière leur écran de verre, dans le cocon de leur appartement, des inconnus se livrent à notre regard. Floriane de Lassée recueille des bribes d’intimité et nous rend spectateur indiscret ; elle met à nu leur solitude silencieuse dans ces océans de vitres et de béton. Parfois, l’artiste  se met en scène elle- meme, silhouette en transparence presque incorporelle ; elle devient ainsi à la fois sujet et auteur de ses photographies graphiques et extrèmement féminines.

Floriane de Lassée est diplômée de l’École Penninghen/ESAG (Paris) et de la très célèbre School of the International Center of Photography (New York City). En 2005, la série des « Night Views » a reçue le Grand Prix du magazine américain Photo District News (PDN), puis a été exposée à Paris, New York et Moscou. En Juillet 2006 et 2007, son travail a fait partie de la sélection des Voies Off du Festival de Photographie d’Arles.

Floriane de Lassée sera en résidence à Pékin pendant la durée de son exposition pour réaliser Inside views Pekin ; travail photographique que la Paris Beijing Photo Gallery aura le plaisir d’exposer au Printemps 2009.

From Paris to Moscow, from New York to Shanghai, Floriane de Lassée takes her large format camera to the top of the roofs, where she captures the atmosphere of the city.

Taken by night, her photographs lead us to the enchanting atmosphere of Paris soften lights, Moscow warm colors, or to the electric ambiances of Tokyo and Shanghai. The night-time city is the theatrical scene of singular moments. Behind their window, in the intimacy of their apartment, anonymous individual are caught by her regard. Floriane de Lassée captures intimate moments as an indiscrete spectator; she witnesses their silent solitude in this ocean of glass and concrete. Sometimes she appears in the frame as a transparent almost immaterial silhouette; thus the artist becomes the subject and the author of these graphic and feminine pictures.

Born in Paris, Floriane de Lassée is graduated from Penninghen/ESAG School of Design (Paris) and from the School of the International Center of Photography (ICP, New York City). In 2005, she won the Grand Prize in the US Photo District News magazine (PDN) with her night views series and then was exhibited in Paris, New York and Moscow. In July 2006 and 2007, her works were part of the “Voies Off” selection of the Arles Photography Festival.

Floriane de Lassée will be in residency in Beijing during the time of her exhibition to compose the Beijing - Inside Views. These photographic series will be exhibited at the Paris-Beijing Photo Gallery in spring 2009.
