Pilar AlbarracÍn (née à Séville en 1968) s’appuie sur les caractéristiques culturelles de son Andalousie natale pour remettre en question le partage des rôles féminin et masculin et les fondements de l’identité sexuelle à travers la vidéo, la performance, la sculpture, la photographie, l’installation. Dans la lignée d’autres artistes féministes, elle utilise son corps et son image pour détourner les poncifs d’une société machiste. Pour sa première exposition personnelle en France, la maison rouge présente une installation et une sélection de ses vidéos les plus récentes.
L’exposition est coproduite par la SEACEX (gouvernement espagnol, ministère des affaires étrangères et de la coopération, programme de l’art espagnol à l’étranger).
A l’occasion de cette exposition un catalogue bilingue français-espagnol, 96 pages couleur, est publié aux éditions fage avec le soutien de la SEACEX, textes de Cécile Bourne, Georges Didi-Huberman, Xavier Arakistain et Lourdes Mendez.
