A trek from the source to the mouth of the Rhine, eight months, 1720 km. During his hike, Stephan Kaluza photographed the opposite river-bank at minute intervals. The 21449 photos taken this way were subsequently digitally and seamlessly joined together into a single, 4 km long photograph resulting in a completely new kind of total view of the river.
Halle 6 - Galerie Christine Hölz is showing in a total length of 111 m various details or rather segments of the project (51 works in a format of 170 by 26 cm, plus 13 works of various widths).
In addition, two works each 16 m long will be presented with views of Düsseldorf and Duisburg Harbour.
All the works are made in an edition of five (lambda print/Plexiglas/dibond, 2005 - 2007).
