Photo District News (PDN), Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBP) & United Photo Industries (UPI) are joining forces to produce a summer-long outdoor photo exhibition, featuring a fierce lineup of judges, awesome prizes, and spanning more than 1000ft of prime real estate on the Brooklyn Waterfront.
The exhibition will explore the theme of community, and will be broken down into 5 categories : Home // Street // People // Creatures // Play.
The FENCE is New York City’s newest outdoor summer show, and will be seen by 300,000+ visitors over an entire summer at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
A Juror's Choice Grand Prize as well as a People's Choice Awards will also be selected from among the participating photographers. PRIZES include a one page feature in PDN Magazine, a La Sardina Czar (metal edition) camera from Lomography, a 2-week exhibition at the United Photo Industries Gallery (including complimentary prints from Conveyor Arts) and much much more!

WHAT IS PHOTOVILLE?
Photoville (photovillenyc.org) is a new Brooklyn-based photo destination - a veritable village of freight containers transformed into temporary exhibition spaces, taking place this summer from June 22 to July 1, 2012. Occupying more than 60,000 sq. feet in the heart of Brooklyn Bridge Park, Photoville will be located on the uplands of Pier 3, along the Brooklyn Waterfront between DUMBO and Atlantic Avenue.
Photoville will feature a feisty mix of exhibitions, lectures, hands-on workshops, nighttime projections, a photo dog run, a camera greenhouse, and a summer beer-garden with food trucks that will create a photography destination like no other. And best of all, Photoville is FREE for all to attend and participate.
