Since 1973, Linda Troeller has been a fearless explorer of the personal and sensual lives of women.
In this collection of almost 40 years of portraits and self-portraits, she is the subject - funny, pensive, bold, sexy, wise and wry.
For me, Linda's photos overflow with her search for an intimate engagement with daily life. Every image shouts: «I am here. I am filled with desire and energy. Join me!» Each image is fully 3-dimensional and dynamic. This series is a passionate journey across the rapidly changing roles, dreams, and ambitions of women in the late 20th/early 21st centuries.

Troeller's art projects focus on personal and social issues. Aperture published her Pictures of the Year award winning images in Healing Waters Her book, Erotic Lives of Women Scalo was reviewed as one of the «most gutsy and imaginative books of the decade» NYTimes. She received the Woman of Achievement Award from Douglass College for her TB-AIDS DIARY that helped prevent discriminative stamping of HIV in passports. Her current project, Self-Portrayal is a collection of self-portraits accompanied by portraits by accomplished colleagues, taken over four decades, highlighting changes in the history of photography and a personal journey reflecting on sex and identity. Recently, she taught Self-portraiture Workshops to women of Medellin, Colombia, where her work has been exhibited at Centro Colombia Galerie and in Palm Spring, Ca.
