Scott McLeod, director and curator of Prefix Institute of Contemporary Art in Toronto, has been appointed curator of the twelfth presentation of Le Mois de la Photo à Montréal, scheduled to take place in September 2011. The announcement was made by Vincent Lavoie, President of the Board of Directors, at the colloquium for the eleventh presentation of the biennale held at the Canadian Centre for Architecture on October 2, 2009. Upon the announcement, McLeod stated that he was "very honoured to be associated with such an outstanding organization" and that he "looked forward to working with the team and their partners and to engaging with the broader community in the city of Montréal." McLeod, who will continue to fulfill the responsibilities associated with his role at Prefix ICA, assumed his new duties on December 1, 2009.

About Scott McLeod
Scott McLeod is a curator of contemporary art specializing in photography, media and digital art. In the past fifteen years, he has curated more than forty exhibitions and authored more than thirty catalogue essays and other texts. Since 1999, he has been the director and curator of Prefix Institute of Contemporary Art, where he also serves as the co-programmer of the Urban Field Speakers Series, the editor of the series Critical Perspectives in Contemporary Art, and the editor and publisher of Prefix Photo magazine. Under his directorship, Prefix ICA has presented solo exhibitions of the work of Lida Abdul, Yael Bartana, Willie Doherty, Harun Farocki, Laurent Grasso, Runa Islam, Oscar Muñoz, Walid Raad, Rosângela Rennó, and Lorna Simpson, among others. A member of AICA Canada and IKT International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art, he lives and works in Toronto.
